This year I have been putting the reading activities etc. on the children's devices and they are doing nearly all their work on them.
This is a big step for me because last year the children published their work and looked up information but did not use the net for much of their other activities.

My site has been created but is still not working properly. Hopefully Garth is going to help me with it in the near future.

My task for this term is to set up my site with Garth and to establish a link to the site so that the children can access their work more readily. So far I have learnt how to access the teacher dash board to see what is in the children's folders. The next step is to be able to make a comment and to help them edit their work in their folders.

So far the children can access their work when I send it to them from my drive. The work I get from the net or from the resource room I email it to myself and then share with them - View only. They make a copy and put it in their reading folder ready to put on a document page when it is time to use the work. Other activities are made on pages, or a document and shared with the children as described. My next challenge is being able to keep a better track of what tasks have or haven't been completed.

It's exciting after 50+ years of teaching to be embarking on an exploration of teacher practice and its correlation to student learning outcomes. In particular I am interested in developing a google site which will empower my literacy students with their visible learning. The days of pencil and paper are diminishing and the power of digital connections is changing the landscape.
